Storytelling Series with the Jaguar Rescue Center

Join author, naturalist, and wildlife advocate Vanessa Chakour and Jaguar Rescue Center founder Encar Vila for a rare and intimate online writing experience that bridges storytelling and species survival. 50% of proceeds benefit the JRC.

Every other month, you’ll meet a rescued animal and hear their story directly from Encar, a world-renowned wildlife biologist and one of Costa Rica’s most experienced wildlife rehabilitators. From sloths and spider monkeys to kinkajous and great green macaws, you’ll learn about the biology, behavior, and threats facing these animals and the deeper ecological context behind their rescue.

Develop your creative voice, Advocate for your animal kin. Writing for the Wild explores the powerful intersection of storytelling and nature.

With a blend of readings, writing prompts, discussion and outdoor activities between sessions, this immersive online course led by author Vanessa Chakour fosters healing through the creative process, and equips you with tools to craft compelling stories on behalf of our wild relatives.

In partnership with Project Coyote, this course offers a chance to support their mission. 50% of proceeds will go towards their efforts to protect North America's wild carnivores and promote compassionate coexistence through education, science, advocacy, and coalition building.
